One of the distinctive Irish singers, Andy’s voice is one of a handful that capture the very soul of Ireland.
A musician, singer, songwriter and an accomplished instrumentalist,
Andy has maintained his highly individual performing skills throughout his 45 year career,
being hailed as “a tradition in himself”.

“A musical travelogue through time and space. His right hand dexterity on bouzouki was nothing short of amazing” -Frets Magazine.

Seven-piece Celtic band
Señor Cabrales

Stirring Asturian music from over the Blue Mountains. The band’s intricate melodic use of fiddle, Spanish pipes (gaita), mandolin, bouzouki, flute, whistle, tenor banjo, bombarde, mandola and bodhran, interwoven with rich harmonic rhythm and driving percussion, delivers a fresh, exciting sound which has thrilled festival audiences throughout Australia.

Señor Cabrales has been praised as “a Celtic musical journey from Spain’s northwest tip to the outer Isles of Scotland.”

This promises to be an unforgettable night of musical entertainment!

Fairlight Folk Acoustic Lounge…

  • A place to relax
  • To drink in the candlelit atmosphere (and maybe a good red or two!)
  • To enjoy good company.

And above all, to experience some of Sydney’s best live music!
Fairlight Folk Acoustic Lounge is the brainchild of a group of dedicated volunteers, musicians and friends from Sydney’s northern beaches, united by a passion for great music. They set up Fairlight Folk to promote the vibrant musical culture that operates largely outside the mainstream music scene, and beyond the reach of the predictable formats of music radio. They wanted to share their passion with an audience that’s hungry for diverse and authentic music, delivered in an environment that’s warm, relaxed and inviting. And to do it all at an affordable price.
Fairlight Folk offers consistently high quality music ranging from Celtic and traditional folk to blues to world to a capella to soul, and showcases bands and singer-songwriters – both established and emerging acts. The unifying theme is that the music is mostly acoustic (but not exclusively so), suited to delivery in an intimate and relaxed environment.
Held every three months at the William St Studios (see our map) at 3 William St, Fairlight (the old Baptist Church just down from Sydney Rd). Fairlight Folk is usually held on a Saturday night starting 7:30 pm every February, May, August and November. See our Future page for details on entry donation amounts.
